Download & Print Aadhar (by Name & Date of Birth)

When your Aadhar card is approved, it’s not necessary for you to wait for your card in the mail because you can download it online in just a few minutes. The only thing you’ll need is your Aadhar enrollment number and your Aadhar card number to be able to download it.

This identification number is issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) and every Indian citizen can have an Aadhar card as a proof of both identification and residence. Aadhar is the world’s largest biometric system and it’s one of most sophisticated ID systems in the world.

Enrolling in Aadhar’s system is easy, and once you do that, you can download your Aadhar card online and print it so you can carry it around with you and use it when you need to.

If you’ve lost both of these numbers, you can still download your Aadhar Card by using your name and your date of birth. Here’s how:

  1. The first you need to do is go to the UIDAI website.
  2. Once you’re there, you’ll have to enter your personal data, including your full name, address, and registered phone number.
  3. When you do that, click on the “Get OTP” (One Time Password) option.
  4. You’ll receive the password via text to your registered number.
  5. Enter the password and then click on “submit”. Once you do that, you will get an email or text message with your enrollment ID details.
  6. Now that you have your Aadhar number, you can go to Aadhar’s page on UIDAI’s website.
  7. Once you’re there click on “I Have” and check the enrollment ID option.
  8. Enter your full name, your Aadhar enrollment number, your PIN code and make sure you enter the security captcha you’ll find on the page.
  9. Once again you’ll have to enter your registered phone number and ask for the One Time Password by clicking on the option.
  10. When you receive your OTP, enter it and click on “done”.
  11. Then you’ll have click on “Validate and Download” and that’s all!

Remember that the file is password protected, so in order to open it you will have to enter the password which is the first four letters of your name in capital letters and the year of your birth.

It should look like this “JOHN”. Once you can see your Aadhar card, you’ll be able to print it and use it. Remember that a copy of the eAadhar card is valid, which means you won’t have to worry about the consequences of losing your physical card.

Lost Acknowledgement Slip? How to Recover EID?

If you don’t have your acknowledgement slip, you can go to UIDAI’s website to recover your EID. Here’s what you should do:

  1. Go to UIDAI’s website.
  2. Click on the “Retrieve Lost UID/EID” option that you’ll find in the “Aadhar Online Services” section.
  3. Enter your personal details, such as full name, email or phone number, and enter the security captcha.
  4. When you receive your OTP, enter it, and you will be able to see all of your enrollment details.

How to Open Password Protected Aadhar Card PDF?

To open your e-Aadhar Card, you’ll need to enter a password because the file is protected. This password must have eight characters and contain the first four letters of your name in capital letters and your year of birth. So, it has to look something like this: “JOHN”. Of course, the name and birth year must be the same name and birth year that you registered in your Aadhar registration.

How to print my Aadhar Card?

Once you use any of the methods we’ve discussed to obtain your eAadhar Card, you’re free to print it. All you need to do is open the PDF file and click on the “Print” option that you’ll find in the menu of Acrobat Reader or you can also use the shortcut on your keyboard by pressing CTRL+P.

In case you don’t have a printer at home, you can copy the file on a pen drive and go to a cyber café or a printing office to get the copy of your Aadhar card printed.

As you can see, the process of getting a copy of your Aadhar card is basically the same no matter if you use your enrollment number, your Aadhar number or your name and date of birth; all the processes are simple and direct, so you can have a duplicate of your Aadhar card whenever you need to and it will be valid.
